Industrial Arts

Yoncalla School District empowers students with practical Industrial Arts programs through Career and Technical Education (CTE), focusing on woodworking, metalworking, welding, and manufacturing skills for real-world applications.

Program Highlights

Hands-on courses teach tool safety, blueprint reading, precision measurement, CAD design, and project-based construction using industry-standard equipment like table saws, lathes, band saws, welders, and 3D printers. Students create custom art items, metal fabrications, printed prototypes, and robotic components, often contributing to community needs like school repairs or auction projects.

Career Pathways

Integrated with Natural Resources, Culinary Arts, and Robotics, we offer dual-credit opportunities through Umpqua Community College that prepare students for trades like carpentry, welding, fabrication, or construction management. Knowledge in workshop safety, carpentry, and welding processes enhance resumes for immediate employment post-graduation.

Student Benefits

Participants develop problem-solving, craftsmanship, and work ethic while creating portfolio-worthy projects. The program fosters pride in tangible results, bridging classroom learning to high-demand local jobs in Oregon's timber and manufacturing sectors.

Robotics Integration

Our Robotics class complements Industrial Arts by adding STEM innovation—students design, program, and compete with intricate robots, applying fabrication skills to mechanical assemblies and wiring for regional challenges and college-credit pathways.
